 There are traditionally 18 major Puranas in Hinduism, and they are classified into three categories: Sattvika, Rajasika, and Tamasika based on their primary focus.

3. Tamasika Puranas (focused on darkness, delusion, and qualities of ignorance)

Each of these Puranas contains vast narratives covering different aspects of mythology, history, cosmology, and religious teachings, and they are important texts in the Hindu tradition.
